The Not for Profit Division at the SF Group is currently looking for an experience Management Accountant to work for one of the local universities in Nottinghamshire.
Key Duties:
- Act as a trusted advisor to the relevant School Executive/Professional Services Group for financial information and support, and participate on committees as appropriate
- Assist the Finance Manager in producing robust 5 year business plans, annual budgets and forecasts
- Provide advice and support to aid understanding of the school/Professional Service Management accounts and financial situation and ensure the smooth running of grant/funding applications and expenditure proposals
- Ensure effective management control through regular monitoring, forecasting and variance analysis of financial information with relevant budget holders
- Provide investment advice and guidance to relevant budget holders and ensure there is a robust business case for all academic and business projects (e.g. course proposals, grant applications, consultancy proposals)
- Liaise across the Finance Business Partner Teams and with NTU Finance teams and build good working relationships, ensuring that all accounting deadlines are met
- Work with the finance systems team to maximise the effective use of the various financial reporting and information tools available to the Finance Business Partner team
- Produce final expenditure reports, claims, invoices and audit documentation for third stream activity
- Assist the Finance Manager with year-end financial procedures, including system structure amendments, journal entries, budget and forecast uploads and provision of commentary
- Maintain data integrity within the finance systems and chart of accounts. Ensure all budget and actual information is reported accurately
- Undertake ad hoc projects and other related duties as may be required from time to time
