Assistant Accountant

Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Financial Services) are recruiting for a Temporary Assistant Accountant to assist a Private Equity Firm based in the City of London.

Previous experience in the Financial Services industry is essential together with a solid understanding of Finance.

Main responsibilities include:

• Preparation of daily cash reports, updating the daily cash flow forecasts to aid management decision making and to quantify risks within the balances.
• Preparing bank reconciliations on a daily/weekly basis to ensure we maintain control over the transactions. Investigate and process all outstanding entries in a timely manner.
• Month end bank reconciliations
• Assist with new banking platform implementation, including integration with Accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Cashbook journals - a good understanding of accounting entries needed.
• Various Balance sheet reconciliations for the major entities including Intercompany Reconciliations.
• Required to be risk aware, readily able to identify risks faced the company in the course of your day-to-day employment.
• Support senior management with additional analysis to help identify efficiencies and improved ways of working to drive growth.

The Successful Assistant Accountant would have the following skills/experience:

• Strong Excel knowledge

• Ideally the candidate would have started, or would be working toward an accounting qualification
• Previous Private Equity or Financial Services experience.

Our client is an independent real estate private equity investor, based in the City of London.

Rate: £18-20 hour
